Preparing for your appointment

Knowing what to expect makes the first appointment a little less daunting.

Articles & patient information

What happens at the first visit

  1. We go through your story

Your symptoms, reports, scans and any treatment so far, and what matters most to you.

  2. Examination & any missing tests

If something important is missing (staging scans, biopsy markers), I'll explain why it's needed.

  3. A clear plan, in writing

The recommended treatment, its goal, how long it takes, likely side effects and cost estimates.

  4. Ongoing support

Who to contact between visits, what warning signs to watch for, and when we meet next.

What to bring

Originals or clear copies help me give you the best advice.

  • Biopsy / histopathology and IHC reports
  • Scan reports and CDs (CT, MRI, PET-CT)
  • Recent blood test results
  • Discharge or surgery summaries
  • A list of all current medicines
  • Biopsy blocks / slides, if a review is needed
  • A family member or friend, if possible
